Someone removed three toolboxes, hand tools, a golf club carrying case and miscellaneous lighting equipment from a Ford F150 in the 300 block of North Austin Boulevard the early afternoon of June 18. Estimated loss is $880.
An unknown person removed a gray men's Eddie Bauer mountain bike locked on a rack in the 200 block of North Scoville Avenue between the nights of June 13 and June 14. Estimated loss is $300.
Someone removed a Gold 2000 Saturn SL four door from the rear lot in the 400 block of South Maple Avenue between the night of June 18 and morning of June 19 by entering the unlocked vehicle and removing a steering wheel locking device. Estimated loss is $2,100.
An unknown person removed a silver and blue 21-inch Trek men's bicycle locked to a rack in the 1200 block of North Harlem Avenue between the morning and afternoon of June 19. Estimated loss is $300.
Someone removed the catalytic converter from beneath a Honda Element in the rear of the 300 block of Wesley Avenue between the night of June 20 and morning of June 21. Estimated loss is $1,700.
An unknown person removed a black Schwinn Cruiser bicycle locked to a rack in the 200 block of North Scoville Avenue the morning of June 21. Estimated loss is $420.
A man attempted to remove a purse belonging to a woman he coerced to come over to his 1990s Buick LeSabre as he was sitting in it in the 100 block of North Marion Street the afternoon of June 21. He grabbed the woman and took a paper bag containing a cupcake and $80 in cash before fleeing south on Marion Street.
Someone broke a wooden panel out of a door to gain entry to a garage in the 1100 block of Bonnie Brae the afternoon of June 18. Once inside, the offender removed a red and white boys Schwinn bicycle. Estimated loss is $260.
An unknown person removed a yellow Giant bicycle from a garage in the 600 block of Fair Oaks Avenue between the afternoon of June 4 and morning of June 15. Estimated loss is $650.
Someone removed a yellow and black Murray bicycle from an open garage in the 100 block of South Lombard Avenue the afternoon of June 18. Estimated loss is $300.
Two teenagers from Chicago and Oak Park were arrested the night of June 17 after police determined they broke a section of a wooden fence in Oak Park and took a book bap containing a laptop computer, camera and case and a bag of condoms from a residence in the 300 block of South Oak Park Avenue. The 18-year-olds were arrested in the 300 block of South Grove Avenue and charged with criminal damage to property and residential burglary.
Someone reached through an open passenger door of a vehicle in the 100 block of Harrison Street the afternoon of June 19 and removed a T-Mobile cell phone from the center console. Estimated loss is $400.
An unknown person removed a Toshiba laptop computer, an Apple iPod, an Apple iPad and a DVD from Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church in the 400 block of South Euclid Avenue between the night of June 19 and morning of June 20. Estimated loss is $1,578.
A 34-year-old Chicago woman was arrested the afternoon of June 21 in Chicago and charged with burglary after police determined she removed a flat screen TV from the 200 block of North Oak Park Avenue.
An 18-year-old Oak Park man was arrested in the early morning of June 21 in River Forest and charged with felony theft and burglary after police discovered he took money from Calvary Memorial Church and from a residence in the 900 block of Wesley Avenue.
A 55-year-old Chicago man was arrested the evening of June 21 after a citizen heard glass breaking at the southwest corner of Christ Episcopal Church in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue. The man reportedly fled the church before police arrived and no loss was reported. He was charged with felony burglary.
Driving under the influence
A 21-year-old Chicago man was arrested the early morning of June 20 for driving under the influence and aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer. When an officer attempted to stop him for a traffic violation on Austin Boulevard, the man continued to drive north until he drove off the road and hit bushes in the parkway in the 1500 block of the street. His blood alcohol level was 0.142.
An 18-year-old man from Joliet and a 19-year-old man from Chicago were arrested in the 100 block of South Austin Boulevard the night of June 21 and charged with robbery after police determined they punched a man and took his backpack that contained a laptop computer, cash and cell phones on June 18.
These items, obtained from the Oak Park and River Forest police departments, took place June 19-25, and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated.
Note: The Oak Park police summary from June 22-24 was not received as of press time and is not included in this report.
