Eugene Kelly, 85, Insurance broker

Eugene P. Kelly, 85, a lifetime resident of Oak Park and River Forest died on June 20, 2012. Born on Feb. 20, 1927, Mr. Kelly was a proud graduate of St. Giles Grade School and Campion High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, then attended Loyola University in Chicago. Shortly after, he entered his family insurance business, J. Frank Kelly & Sons, alongside his father and brothers.

Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; his son, Christopher; his daughters, Katie, Molly, and Maggie; his grandson, Patrick; his granddaughters, Kara, Erin, Madeline and Maeve; his brothers, Rev. William, Edward, and Thomas; and his sisters, Barbara, Maureen, Catherine, and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his brother. J. Frank "Bud."

Funeral Mass was celebrated on June 23 at St. Giles Church, followed by private interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St Giles Church Accessibility Fund, 1025 N. Columbian Ave., Oak Park, IL 60302 would be greatly appreciated.
