Oak Park Police investigate early morning shooting on Chicago-Oak Park border

Oak Park Police are investigating an apparent homicide early Saturday where a 25-year-old man from Chicago died from multiple gunshot wounds near the Chicago-Oak Park border.
According to a statement from police, officers responded to a report of the shooting around 6:30 a.m. and found the man lying in the street at Austin Boulevard near Chicago Avenue. Oak Park paramedics determined he was deceased. His name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
Witnesses reported seeing a male subject running from the scene shortly after the shooting, the statement said. Police are collecting evidence and conducting interviews in the neighborhood.
