Three Chicagoans arrested for armed robbery

Richard Knoble, 22, of the 1600 block of West Lemoyne, Chicago, and two Chicago juveniles were arrested for an armed robbery that took place at an unspecified date at the CTA Blue Line station at 720 S. Austin Blvd. in Oak Park.

Police made the arrest in the 1000 block of Troost Avenue, Forest Park, on June 7 at 10:43 p.m.

 

Theft

Someone entered a construction site in the 500 block of North Kenilworth Avenue sometime between 4:30 p.m. on June 7 and 5 a.m. on June 8, and removed and discharged two red fire extinguishers, which were later recovered. The estimated loss is $100.

A white 2017 Nissan Sentra that was reported stolen from the Hertz rental car lot, 629 Madison St., was returned by the renter at 3:53 p.m. on June 8. 

A man between the ages of 30 and 40 stole three bottles of Jameson Black Barrel whiskey from Walgreen's, 811 Madison St., at 11:32 a.m. on June 10. 

The offender was described as black, 6-foot with a medium build and wearing glasses, a tan baseball cap, brown hoodie, collared shirt with white stripes and tan jeans. The estimated loss is $105.

Someone stole a locked burgundy Trek 800 bicycle from the 1100 block of Westgate sometime between 6 p.m. on June 5 and 7:30 a.m. on June 6. The estimated loss is $300.

Someone stole a gray Schwinn bicycle from the 400 block of Lake Street sometime between 9 and 9:30 p.m. on June 3. The estimated loss is $400.

Someone stole a catalytic converter from a red 2006 Honda CRV in the 200 block of South Maple, sometime between 4:30 p.m. on May 31 and 8:05 a.m. on June 4. 

 

Burglary

Two Chicago juveniles were arrested for attempted burglary to a motor vehicle in the 100 block of Kenilworth Avenue at 5:09 p.m. on June 10. 

Someone burglarized a 2013 Volkswagen in the 1100 block of Westgate, sometime between 12:45 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. on June 10. The offender entered the vehicle through an unlocked passenger side window. No loss was reported.

A GMC Terrain was burglarized in the 1100 block of Westgate sometime between 8 p.m. on June 5 and 8:27 a.m. on June 6. The burglar stole a Dell laptop from the vehicle. The estimated loss is $3,000.

A black 2018 Honda Odyssey was stolen from the 700 block of North Ridgeland sometime between 11 p.m. on June 3 and 7:45 a.m. on June 4. The offender ransacked the vehicle and stole a Verizon wireless mobile hotspot modem, a Roku, a pair of blue and black Ray-Ban prescription sunglasses and cash. The estimated loss is $755.

A black 2013 Volkswagen EOS was burglarized in the 300 block of North Ridgeland Avenue at 2 p.m. on June 4. The offender ransacked the vehicle and stole $5. 

Someone burglarized an unlocked red Honda Civic in the 100 block of Forest Avenue sometime between 4:30 and 7:17 p.m. on June 4. The offender stole a laptop computer. The estimated loss is $1,250.

 

Criminal damage

Someone threw an object that shattered the glass window of a residence in the 100 block of Lemoyne at 2:07 a.m. on June 11. The estimated damage is $200.

Someone damaged the basement window frames and screens at a residence in the 500 block of South Ridgeland Avenue sometime between 4:30 and 8:15 p.m. on June 6. The estimated loss due to damage is $100.

 

These items, obtained from the Oak Park and River Forest police departments, came from reports, June 5-11, and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated. We report the race of a suspect only when a serious crime has been committed, the suspect is still at large, and police have provided us with a detailed physical description of the suspect as they seek the public's help in making an arrest.
