Upon reading the story titled, "Gang burials a problem in western suburbs" in the May 30 edition of Wednesday Journal, I wondered if the easiest solution isn't the best. That is, of course, banning funeral processions.
Funeral processions exist for no logical reason and certainly don't support the greater community at large. People make their way across our community by vehicle every single day without this special privilege. Yet a private business, funeral homes, feel they need this perk to lower their costs or wedge more funerals into a day.
This is nothing more ridiculous than McDonald's insisting all traffic must give way to their customers. At least McDonald's would have a point. They don't want the food to get cold.
