River Forest District 90 schools recently unveiled "School Messenger," a free mobile application intended to keep parents in the know during all hours.
The new app "is designed to provide parents, staff, students aånd other community members with a convenient way to stay current on important information and activities," D90 spokeswoman Dawne Simmons wrote in a release.
It is developed by the Omaha, Nebraska-based West Corporation, a private telecommunications firm that also provides D90 with "highly secure" phone call, text and email technology.
Users can set communications preferences, review messages on any device and receive updates on classrooms news, activity alerts, district notifications and more.
Apple iOS and Android users can download the app at go.schoolmessenger.com.
