The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust's 38th annual Wright Plus architectural housewalk on Saturday, June 2 was a tremendous success, thanks to the incredible support of the Oak Park-River Forest community.
Our gratitude goes to the Wright Plus homeowners who so graciously open their beautiful homes to us, presenting an experience unmatched in hospitality and architectural splendor.
Thanks to our patient neighbors who welcome our guests to the neighborhood. And a special heartfelt thank-you to the hundreds of volunteers who take so much pride in organizing this wonderful event. Their hours of planning, research and engagement make for a truly festive and lively day.
Our dedicated staff and board extend our gratitude to all of the Wright Plus supporters, our Ultimate Plus guests, and our 2012 sponsors: Whole Foods, Lincoln, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Chicago magazine, Baird and Warner, ComEd, Downtown Oak Park, Greenline Wheels, Marion Street Cheese Market, Heritage Tile, Visit Oak Park, Winberie's, Hoy Landscaping, Book Table, Cucina Paradiso, Divine Consign, Hemmingway's Bistro, Goose Island Brewery, and Starbucks.
Thank you to our community partners: Pleasant Home, Cheney Mansion and Gardens, Ernest Hemingway Birthplace Home, The Nineteenth Century Charitable Association, and the Carleton of Oak Park, official hotel of Wright Plus 2012. Our thanks also to the florists whose donated arrangements that graced the tour homes: Carriage Flower Shop, Garland Flowers, Good Earth Greenhouse, Moss Modern Flowers, poppyposh, Scherek Designs, Tulipia and Westgate Flowers.
And finally, our gratitude to chefs Gale Gand, Daniel Herskovic and Leonard Hollander who give their time and talents to create memorable Exclusively Wright Dinners.
Without the generosity and commitment of so many individuals and organizations, Wright Plus would not be "that granddaddy of housewalks," as the Chicago Tribune described it.
The Preservation Trust's mission is to engage, educate and inspire the public through the architecture, design and legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright. The funds raised during Wright Plus allow us to preserve the Home & Studio and our other museum sites for future generations, and present unique architecture-in-education programs for children, families and students in the Chicago area.
We look forward to welcoming many more of you to Wright Plus 2013 on Saturday, May 18.
President and CEO, Wright Preservation Trust
