Mark Hadaway, 59, a former 20-year resident of Oak Park and a nine-month resident of Sugar Grove, died at his home on April 20, 2013. Born on Jan. 21, 1954 in Atlanta, Ga., he graduated from Meadowview Elementary and Walker High School and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Georgia. Prior to his death, he was a longtime salesperson for Shaw Industries of Dalton, Ga.
A faithful friend of Bill W., he was also a member of Lambda Chi fraternity. Golf, fishing, and more golf were his other interests.
Mark Hadaway is survived by his wife, the Rev. Victoria L. Hadaway; his brothers, Matthew W. Hadaway and John A. Hadaway; his aunts, Sidney Eugenia Smith and Anne H. Hadaway; his cousins, Geoffery Hadaway and Douglas Hadaway; and his in-laws, Barbara (the late Thomas) Nagle and Edwin (Bettine) Landon. He was a mentor, a loving brother-in-law, uncle and cousin of many and a loving "father" to Casey and Maggie Mae (the family's dogs). He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ann Campbell Hadaway, who died shortly after his birth; his second mother, Mary Elizabeth Smith Hadaway, who lovingly raised him; and his father, Brigadier General Talmage E. Hadaway (U.S.A.F.) and his uncle, William "Douglas" Hadaway.
A memorial visitation and service were held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora on May 4. Private interment will take place at County line United Methodist Church Cemetery in Acworth, Ga.
