Mike and Cindy Harrison of Mesquite, Tex. announce the engagement of their daughter Tracie Lynn to Eric Gilmour Peters.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Elmer and Maxine Patton of Talco, Tex.; Bob and Dorothy Clark of Cookville, Tex. and the late James Harrison of Mt. Pleasant, Tex. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is employed by the Dallas World Aquarium.

The prospective groom is the son of James (former vice president of Chicago Roller Skate Company) and Jeannette Peters of Hurst, Tex. (both formerly of River Forest). He is the grandson of Reiner and Julia Kalus of Germany, Richard Montgomery of the Czech Republic, and the late Wallace and Evelyn Peters of Oak Park. He attended UTA and is employed by Rack Space in Grapevine, Tex.

The couple will wed at 4:30 p.m., June 10, at Calvary Baptist Church in Talco. Family and friends are invited to attend the ceremony.

 

Engaged in Budapest, marriage in D.C.

Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Elsener, of Oak Park, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyce Elizabeth Elsener, to Michael Francis Dillon, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Francis Dillon, Sr., of Savannah, Ga.

The couple became engaged last December while vacationing in Budapest, Hungary. She is a graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School and Indiana University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history and was a member and captain of the Women’s Division I Crew Team. She is currently completing a Master of Arts in Teaching at American University in Washington, D.C. and will teach history and social studies at the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Md. this fall. Mr. Dillon is a graduate of Benedictine Military School and George Washington University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English and was president of the Delta Pi Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He splits his employment between duties as a congressional affairs consultant to the U.S. Army and as a commercial and residential real estate agent with Long and Foster Real Estate in Washington, D.C. The wedding is planned for July 29 at St. Aloysius Church on Capitol Hill in Washington.

A real professional

Sara Danker, administrative manager for RE/MAX in the Village Realtors, was recently named one of three individuals to share RE/MAX Northern Illinois’ Administrative Professional of the Year Award.

Players’ past

Audrey Erber, one of the founding members and past historian of the Village Players of Oak Park, has written a history of the group from its first season through the 2000 season. A copy of the book with accompanying play bills have been donated to the Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest. She also donated a scrapbook telling the history of the Theater Guild of Oak Park.
