Val Perrelli went the distance with 10 strikeouts to lift the Friars past host Fenton 6-0 in the Class 3A regional championship game Saturday.
Ashley Parenti (1-for-3, two RBIs) and Maggie Horn (1-for-3, RBI) led offensively for Fenwick (19-15).

Despite a complete-game, two-hitter from Jimmy Krecek, the Friars fell 2-0 to St. Laurence in Saturday’s regional final at the Priory. Gino Cavalieri went 2-for-4 for the Friars (14-17).
Fenwick threatened the Vikings with the bases loaded and two outs in the fifth but came away scoreless.
Fenwick boys tennis
The Friars’ doubles team of Jack Ryan and Colin Fitzpatrick won three of five matches at the state finals to earn all of the Friars’ four points.
