Edwin S. Wilczynski, 93, of Westmont and formerly of Oak Park and Brookfield, died on May 19, 2013 at Cordia Senior Residence in Westmont.
Mr. Wilczynski served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he married Ruth E. Gray on Jan. 12, 1946 in Slinger, Wis. He worked for more than 30 years as an apartment building superintendent in Oak Park and Chicago. He lived in Oak Park from 1968 to 1985 and in Brookfield from 1985 to 2009.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1344 in Forest Park, the Royal Arcanum Lodge and Service Employees International Union Local 1. Mr. Wilczynski also enjoyed gardening and watching Chicago sports teams.
Edwin Wilczynski is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Wilczynski (nee Gray); his son, Bruce (Roni) Wilczynski; his daughter, Diane (Dr. Robert) Lichtenberg; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brothers Sylvester Wilcy and Philip Blair; and his sister, Stella Mead.
Services have been held. Interment took place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
