Mildred E. "Mikki" Reinhold (nee Phelps), 99, of Oak Park, formerly of LaGrange, Hinsdale and Brookfield, died on May 18, 2014 at the Oak Park Arms. Born on July 12, 1914 in Brookfield to the late Orville and JenniePhelps, she graduated from Cossitt Elementary school in LaGrange and Lyons Township High School.
For many years she worked as an executive secretary in Chicago and as the church secretary for 17 years at Congress Park Community Methodist Church in Brookfield. She loved to travel in both the U.S. and Canada and also traveled to Iceland. She was active in Congress Park Community Methodist Church before moving to Oak Park.
Known as a classy lady, she was good natured and always loved to laugh. She truly loved people. She was the 2004 queen of the Oak Park Arms annual Senior Prom and her warm smile graced many of the Arms' promotional publications, and local newspapers featuring stories about the Oak Park Arms.
Preceded in death by her husband Leonard Reinhold, her brother Bud Phelps and her sister Doris Beintema, she is survived by her niece, Gayle (husband Paul) Brinkman of Oak Park and her nephew John Beintema; eight grand-nieces and -nephews; 10 great-grand-nieces and -nephews; and a host of friends.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church, 405 S. Euclid Ave., Oak Park.
