Eugene Casasola, 82, of River Forest, died on May 6, 2016. Born on Sept. 6, 1933, Eugene was a Central American and American weightlifting champion. He won first place in the Senior Nationals in 1970. He also worked for 25 years for Hostess Bakery.
Eugene Casasola is survived by his wife, Ethel Casasola (nee Reyes); his daughter, Yvette (Robert) Walsh; and his grandchildren, Taylor, Mary, and Robert R. Walsh.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke Church, 528 Lathrop Ave. in River Forest on Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m.
