Oak Park Police Chief Rick Tanksley released a statement regarding the hiring of two new deputy police chiefs on Thursday, May 12. The statement confirmed that a decision had been made regarding the two positions, but noted that details remain to be dealt with before any public announcement is made.
"The final phase of the search for two new deputy chiefs is now complete," said Tanksley. "However, due to certain necessary processes and procedures that must be followed before anyone can be officially
appointed to these important posts within the police department, I cannot release any names publicly."
"I am very pleased with all of the candidates, and am very anxious to fill the positions," he continued. "But until all of the details of the selection process have been finalized, I cannot in fairness to the village and the privacy of any candidates, say more.
I will move as expeditiously as is prudent. I will share details of candidates and why they were chosen as soon as possible."
Tanksley said he hoped to make a more detailed announcement regarding the appointments sometime this week.
