Gayle G. Morales, 73, of River Forest, formerly of Oak Park, died on May 7, 2012. Born on Feb. 7, 1939 in Huntingdon, Penn., to Eugene and Ada McNeal, she was a graduate of Huntingdon High School and also completed studies at the Altoona School of Commerce. Gayle was an administrative assistant for over 20 years at Concordia University until her retirement in 2003. She was a member of PEO and was very active at First United Methodist Church, where she was in the choir and served on numerous committees. She also enjoyed reading, traveling and doll houses.

Gayle Morales is survived by her children, Richard Morales, Cindi (John) Buchta, and David (Gayle) Morales; her grandchildren, Jacob Morales, Matthew, Zachary and Rachel Buchta, and Gabriella and Madeline Morales; his sisters, Terry (Vali) McNeal and Marlene (Bruce) Purvis; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose A.; her daughter-in-law, Carole; and her siblings, Joyce Russell and Eugene McNeal.

Visitation, followed by a service, took place on May 12 at First United Methodist Church. Memorials to First United Methodist, 324 N. Oak Park Ave., Oak Park, IL 60302 or the American Cancer Society are appreciated.

Arrangements were handled by Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home in Oak Park.
