Feliz Berlanga, 60, Advocate, educator, IEA attorney

Felicitas "Feliz" Berlanga, 60, of River Forest died on April 17, 2012, surrounded by her family at the University of Illinois, Chicago Hospital. A passionate advocate, educator, and lawyer with the Illinois Education Association, she was also an avid traveler and fearless explorer with an appreciation for beauty in our world. She left her family, friends, and colleagues with countless memories of good times shared together.

Feliz Berlanga is survived by her husband, Arly Eggertsen; her children, Alyse and Erik Eggertsen; and her siblings, Ana, Jesse, Michael and Victoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Victoria Berlanga, and her sister, Maria.

Memorial services were held on April 20 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Forest Park. Memorials may be made to the Hispanic Lawyers Scholarship Fund of Illinois, c/o Joseph J. Torres, Winston & Strawn LLP, 35 W. Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601.

I am so sorry, I just now found out about Felice's death. I hadn't heard from her in a couple of years and I was trying to find her on facebook. I send my deepest regrets to her family.
