"It's low."

That was the response of one election judge at the Village Hall polling site about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The precinct, he said, was doing slightly better than some, but only 150 ballots had been cast at that point.

In a few minute span, only about two people cast their votes during a typically peak voting period. Voters have another hour until the polls close at 7 p.m.

The number of signs strewn across the neighborhoods, at street corners and hanging in businesses suggest people are engaged in this election, but as one staffer at Wednesday Journal reminded us: "Signs don't vote." Maybe the numbers will get a boost in the final hour.

Wednesday Journal staffers will be live blogging updates from watch parties and providing results here on as they become available. Full election results will also be available online and in print tomorrow.
