Can't wait for the lawn crews to return

Oh good, it's April. That means those of you who engage lawn services will soon be visited by the crews who will be charging you to diligently search for the blade of grass that has dared to grow a fraction of an inch since November, when they finally stopped coming last season. Of course, those of us who deign to mow our own lawns won't start again until sometime later in May when our grass actually starts growing (similarly, we stopped mowing our lawns last September when it stopped growing).

In the meantime, we'll certainly enjoy hearing the din of your lawn service mowers and blowers.

Oooooh! I'm getting the tingles just thinking about the heavenly smell of fresh cut grass. In SE OP our lawns are down right tiny and many homeowners use push mowers (not me) to cut their grass. I for one do not like weeds and do like to pull them manually. What I found is that those people who leave their grass clippings to fly back on their grass tend to cut their weeds and spread the seeds everywhere. They no longer have grass but a weed field. Has anyone else noticed this?

Peter, why don't you just worry about yourself? Not everybody has the time to take care of landscaping their home as well as they'd like. Let's keep the tree hugging to a minimum. Doesn't really surprise me that this comes from an Oak Parker. Just saying....

Amen, Peter!!! I was gonna write about this myself! I didn't know OP was as obnoxious in this dept. as RF! Where I live, people have modest-sized lawns. There is no need whatsoever to destroy the peace and quiet with this madness. I hope the intended parties read this. Yes, it's not green in the least. I would also like to see manual mowers make a comeback. I saw one in RF. Rakes make sense--leafblowers are idiotic, IMO. All they do is BLOW. LEAVES. AROUND. Plus that sound orignated in Hell.

Yeah.....the smell of 2-cycle motor exhaust makes me want to hurl. Bring back rakes!

My sentiments exactly! Only to be followed in the fall with obnoxious leaf blowing. Heard of a rake people? All of you "green" people employing leaf blowers and other polluting 2 stroke engines make me question your authenticity.
