Lucia Frances (Martina) Kujawa, 88, of Oak Park, formerly of Decatur, died on March 24, 2013 at Mason Point Masonic Home in Sullivan. Born on July 1, 1924 in Decatur to Salvatore and Angela Martina, she attended St. Patrick Grade School and Decatur High School. She was also a graduate of cosmetology school and Brown's Business College.

She worked as a secretary for Oak Park and River Forest High School and retired from Jewel Osco Corporate Headquarters. A devout Catholic, she was very active in St. Giles Church. On Aug. 28, 1948, she married Robert O. Kujawa.

Lucia Kujawa is survived by her cousins, Louis (Cookie) Feriozzi, Frances (Feriozzi) Herrera and her husband Ray; many nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Clarence Schoepf. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; sisters, Minnie Hershberger and Maria Martina; and her brothers, Emil Martina, Fred Martina, George Martina and Gene Martina. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Mason Point Masonic Home for their care of Lucy in her final years.

A funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on April 5, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Decatur with Fr. John Burnett, celebrant. A visitation of one hour will take place before the Mass, followed by interment at Graceland Cemetery also in Decatur.

Lucy was a thoughful and caring woman and a great friend and partner to my father. There will be a memorial mass held for Lucy at St. Giles Church on April 19th at 10:30 a.m.

Lucy was a kind woman of faith. We would often see her at 7:45 Sunday mass at Saint Giles. We will miss her bright smile and cheery greetings. Kathy & Dan Hefner
