River Forest Police made three drunken-driving arrests and issued 15 citations for failure to wear a seatbelt over the St. Patrick's Day weekend, according to a press release.
The department joined with state and local law enforcement over the holiday as part of a "crackdown" on drinking and driving. The stepped up-enforcement — part of the state's "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns — was funded by traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Transportation Safety.
