On Feb. 12, Hephzibah Children's Association held its annual fundraiser, the Heart of Gold Ball, at Chicago's Soldier Field. The event honors those who strive to make a profound difference by helping Hephzibah build futures for the children the agency counsels, teaches, cares for and loves, and celebrates the resilience of the children who are making it.

David Crumbaugh, a longtime supporter of Hephzibah's day care program and a lead sponsor of the GE Charity Golf Classic for the past three years, received the Heart of Gold Award. Mark Shaker, also a longtime Hephzibah supporter who helped make Sibling Camp a reality, was honored with the Heart of the Home Award.
