Richardson earns win, hits two homers as OPRF crushes Hinsdale South

Emily Richardson improved to 4-0 this spring as OPRF rolled to a 25-7 win over Hinsdale South on Thursday. Richardson was even better at the plate, finishing 5-for-6 with two home runs, a double, five RBIs and two runs scored. Other hitting stars for the Huskies included Taylor Arends (5-for-7, four RBIs), Sophie Mouros (3-for-6, four RBIs) and Nina Steele (3-for-5, two RBIs, two runs scored).

The Huskies (8-3) have a full slate of games next week. OPRF visits Proviso West on Monday (April 21) for a 4:30 p.m. West Suburban Conference Silver Division game. The Huskies return home for three games against Morton (Tuesday, April 22), Downers Grove North (Wednesday, April 23) and Richards (Friday, April 25). All home games next week start at 4:30 p.m. except the OPRF-Richards game which begins at 4:45 p.m.     

Friars earn split with Joliet Catholic

Fenwick defeated Joliet Catholic 11-9 in Game 2 of a conference doubleheader to salvage a split. Ashley Parenti (4-for-4) and Jess Mrozek (3-for-3) paced the offense. Winning pitcher Val Perrelli (7-3) allowed two earned runs and nine hits over 5 2/3 innings to notch the victory. Joliet Catholic won the opener 10-7.

Fenwick (7-5) hosts Providence on Saturday (April 19) in a doubleheader. The first game starts at 11 a.m. at the Priory.
