Dear River Forest neighbors,

I would like to express my sincerest thank-you to the River Forest community for electing me your next village president. This is truly an honor and it's a pleasure to serve this community. I have received so many emails, letters, and phone calls expressing excitement for our village and for our future.

None of what I said were empty campaign promises. I have a plan. I will continue to maintain our safe community; I will work at maintaining our property values through balancing our budget and running an effective government; I will begin to work at stabilizing our property taxes through more collaboration with other units of government; and I will grow our tax base through appropriate economic development.

These plans will be accomplished through opening our doors, listening more, and inviting others to participate. There is room for all of us if you would like to help our village!

Again, to all of my supporters, friends, neighbors and acquaintances, my deepest gratitude and appreciation for allowing me to serve as your next village president.

I have tried to personally pick up all of my yard signs; however, if I missed one, please email me (continuetheprogressrf@gmail.com) and I will pick the sign up from your lawn. I will recycle the signs and the stakes.

Our front lawns and parkway trees displaying white ribbons and the American flag will now stand alone to show the unity of our community in honoring a beautiful, talented and committed young woman and one of our own, Anne Smedinghoff.

All the best,

Cathy Adduci

Village of River Forest president-elect
