Patricia Kurtz, 83, longtime Oak Park resident

Patricia M. Kurtz (nee Matthews), 82, a 43-year resident of Oak Park, died on April 13, 2014 at Belmont Village. Born in Chicago on Sept. 20, 1931 to the late Clarence and Nina Matthews, she was a 1949 graduate of Austin High School and attended DePaul University.. In 1956 she married Donald W. Kurtz and they moved to Oak Park in 1971. 

Her passions were family, local politics, antiques, and arts and crafts. 

Patricia Kurtz is survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Karen (Michael) Fischer, Maureen Kurtz, Daniel (April Hughes) Kurtz, Robert (Maria) Kurtz, and Kristin (Kevin) Hunter; and her grandchildren, Caitlin and Adam Fischer and Christopher, Katie and Meggie Kurtz. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19 from 11 a.m. until the time of service, 12 noon, at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St. in Oak Park. Interment is private. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Suburban Special Recreation Association at are appreciated.
