Wrestlers place nationally

Two wrestlers from Oak Park placed at the Reno World Championship National Wrestling tournament.

Ryan Fish, wrestling with the Fenwick Falcons youth program placed fifth in the 8-year-old division, 90-pound weight class.

Sam Brooks, wrestling with the Fenwick Falcons and Overtime School of Wrestling placed fifth in the 10-year-old division, 90-pound weight class. The Reno World Championships, held in Reno, Nevada, on April 1-3, is one of the largest junior wrestling tournaments in the world. Over 2,500 wrestlers from over 40 states participated in the tournament.

Fenwick grapplers place at Junior State

The Fenwick Falcons youth wrestling team took eighth place at the Junior State Wrestling tournament. Held in Danville last month, Junior State is the state-wide tournament for 8, 9, and 10 year olds. Nearly 750 wrestlers representing over 140 teams participated in the tournament. First place finishers included Sam Brooks and Jack Dardanes. Nick Ruffino, Jr., took second place; Nick Kowalczuk took third place; and John Bragado placed seventh.
