District 90 school board

Kristin Coe (Incumbent) is seeking a second term to “continue the child-centered focus of the board.” She’s also concerned with preparations for full-scale facilities review to be conducted as part of the state’s 2009 life-safety review.

Janice Pyrce is the founder and principal of the Pyrce Healthcare Group, with master’s degrees in both business administration and social work. She volunteered on the successful Dist. 90 tax referendum campaign last spring.

James Weiss, an attorney specializing in employment and labor law, has served as a classroom volunteer at Willard School, a youth sports coach and does pro bono legal work for community-oriented clients.

River Forest Village Board
Uncontested

Steve Hoke, an attorney, has lived in River Forest for 19 years. He has four children, and is an attorney in Chicago. He was a member of the village’s Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Home Rule and authored the commission’s minority report, which held there is no compelling reason to pursue it. He has also been active in property tax reform in the village.

Susan Conti was elected Village Clerk in 2005 and will step down to become a trustee.

Stephen Dudek has been a River Forest park board commmisioner the past six years, the last two as president.

River Forest Library Board
Uncontested

Joan O’Connor has been a resident of River Forest for over 22 years. She has been a member of the Traffic and Safety Commission. She holds degrees from Mundelein College, Northwestern University, and Portland State University. Ms. O’Connor has been on the staff of Downers Grove South High School. She and husband Joseph O’Connor have three grown children.

Genevieve Halloran is a graduate of Trinity High School, Boston College, and John Marshall Law School. She’s a partner in the Bean Group PC, and volunteers for River Forest Youth Soccer and at St. Luke School. Sees the library as a special place to bring her young children.

Referendum

The referendum reads: “Shall the offices of Township Treasurer and Trustee of Schools of Township 39 North, Range 13 East be abolished?”
