We would like to endorse Barbara Dolan–or as we have known and loved her, Queen B for village trustee. Now that she’s retired, we know she’s got about 20 hours of time on her hands each week. We’ve seen her work, and we’ve seen her play, and we know she takes them both very seriously. Her positive attitude and level of involvement in a sport played by girls half her age was inspiring to many. Barbara’s favorite drill was always “kamandas,” where we skate as fast as possible, hit the ground at the whistle, get back up and go again fast. It’s a good analogy for the way she faces challenges: with highly-responsive power and commitment. We saw her handle league projects big and small with the kind of reliability, creativity and thoroughness you rarely see nowadays. That and she can give and take a hit with the best of us. For those reasons and more, we’d recommend voting for Barbara Dolan of NLP on April 17.
