The Friars opened their season with three wins in four games last week. Fenwick ripped through St. Joseph 19-0, Riverside-Brookfield 5-0 and Prosser 18-0 in an impressive start to the spring.
The win over highly-regarded RB was particularly memorable as the Friars plated five runs on six hits in the eighth inning en route to the victory. Ashley Parenti (4-for-5) and Jess Mrozek (3-for-4) and Jenna Cairo (2-for-5) led offensively, while Mrozek also notched the complete-game win allowing three hits and fanning nine over eight innings.
The lone setback for Fenwick occurred Saturday in an 11-3 loss to host Mother McAuley. Fenwick led 3-2 in the sixth inning before the Mighty Macs scored nine unanswered runs. Ashley Parenti and Olivia Soja both finished 2-for-3 for Fenwick.
