Congratulations to OPRF senior swimmer Mark Hallman, the Midtown Athletic Club Athlete of the Week.

Hallman turned in a stellar showing at the swimming state finals on Saturday, taking fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (46.19) and sixth in the 50 free (21.22). He also swam the anchor leg on the Huskies' 200-yard freestyle relay team with Will McNiel, James Kelly and Chris Brandt, which tied state finals host Evanston for 8th place (1:26.76).

"Mark is one of our more animated swimmers," OPRF coach Clyde Lundgren said earlier this season. "Our guys really respect that. They know that he's giving all that he has to get the results that he wants."

Hallman's older brothers, Eric and Kevin, also swam at OPRF. Hallman plans on attending Pamona College in Claremont, Calif., where he will swim and play water polo.

The Midtown Athletic Club Athlete Feature, The Midtown Athletic Club Athlete of the Week and weekly sports calendar/scoreboard are sponsored by Midtown Athletic Club in Oak Park.
