The circus takes a contemporary twist at Dominican
Finland's widely popular circus company, Circo Aereo, melds traditional circus arts such as juggling and aerial work with cabaret theater, modern dance and comedy. Think of it as a circus for the 21st century. Circo Aereo brings its mesmerizing performance to Dominican University's Lund Auditorium this Friday, March 4. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is sure to delight during these final days of winter. For tickets and more information, visit www.dom.edu/pac
Circle Theatre presents 'The Man Who Came To Dinner'
George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's lighthearted comedy, which first opened on Broadway in 1939, may not be as contemporary as Circo Aero, but it certainly delivers as much delight. The play revolves around an arrogant and overbearing theatre critic who must rely on an unsuspecting family after suffering a hip injury. Circle Theatre's production of Dinner runs through April 3 with performances every Friday, Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Click here to read Doug Deuchler's review and purchase tickets.
Forest Park's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade
We simply can't get through this 'Best of the weekend' without mentioning Forest Park's annual St. Paddy's Day Parade. Green beer, Shriner cars, Irish dancers and bagpipes are only a fraction of the festivities during this early celebration. Rain or shine, it's always craic! The parade down Madison Street kicks-off at 1 p.m., but it's a good idea to arrive a little early. For more information, visit www.exploreforestpark.com.
