For the past eight years, Eric Davis has served as a trustee of Oak Park Township, gaining experience in deliberating and decision-making on public policy and fiscal matters, especially levies, budgets and projects involving the wise expenditure of public money. As township supervisor, I can attest to the quality of his public service.
Eric initiated discussions on senior housing in Oak Park and led the effort for a grant-supported study with the village and the Residence Corp. that provided information useful for such projects as the Comcast building initiative. Working with the Senior Services staff and advisory committee, he initiated the publication of a guide for seniors in dealing with extreme hot and cold weather and received statewide recognition for the work.
Throughout the three years of acquisition and renovation of the new Senior Services facility, he brought an architect's perspective that actually saved the Township money on key parts of the project. When informed of the broad scope of Eric's work and leadership within and outside of township service, the Township Officials of Illinois awarded him the Trustees Division 2012 Award for Excellence in Public Service.
Eric would bring to District 200 important board experience in policy, levies and budgets; a creative mind on new initiatives; an architect's perspective to building renovation decisions, and a deep commitment to the community and our youth.
