I am writing to support Cathy Adduci for River Forest village president. I have known Cathy for several years, primarily as a neighbor. Over the years as we have gotten to know each other better, I have come to respect Cathy not only as a wonderful neighbor but also as an accomplished business executive.

When I moved to River Forest in 2006, Cathy was one of the very first neighbors to ring my door bell and introduce herself and welcome me to the block. We're both dog lovers, so from then on we often have opportunity to chat as we walk our dogs. When we had the terrible floods back in 2010, Cathy's house was extremely hard hit. I will never forget her devastation that early Saturday morning, but she was more interested in what she could do to help me and other neighbors who also had flooded basements (most with far less damage than she was dealing with). When we had the terrible storms last summer and our power was out for a couple of days, it was Cathy who stopped by to see if I needed anything.

All to say, she is a person who cares about our village and cares about its residents. We are fortunate to have such a vibrant community with beautiful homes, excellent schools, clean and safe parks, low crime and a good foundation of commerce and retail tax revenue. However, we are not, nor have we been, immune to the economic challenges which continue to plague the nation. We need a person like Cathy to "Continue the Progress" of navigating our village through what lies ahead. We need to continue initiatives in economic development, public safety, fiscal responsibility, and governmental transparency and controls. We need a good neighbor and a good business person to lead our village government.

To me, that person is Cathy Adduci. I have nothing but respect for our former (since 2006) and current public officials; I know or have met most of them and I know they have done the best they could. I applaud anyone who is willing to be a public servant. Much progress has been made over the years, and Cathy has been an integral part of that progress. Let's continue that progress, and elect Cathy Adduci as our next River Forest village president.
