It is no secret that OPRF High School is the single most important asset in our community. On April 9 when we elect four candidates to the District 200 board, we have the opportunity to choose an individual who balances a commitment to providing a rich educational experience for all students with an informed and judicious application of financial skills.
In a field of many qualified candidates for this school board, Tom Cofsky stands out from the rest. He is the only individual in the group who has led an organization of the size and complexity of OPRF. As the leader of a major manufacturing company, responsible for over 500 employees in four different states, Tom has successfully guided his organization to control costs while improving quality. An engineer by training, he is a skilled problem-solver. He has also been a consensus builder who has excelled at bringing people of
different backgrounds and concerns to the table to reach
Nonetheless, he is a realist. His two years of service on the High School Advisory Leadership Team informed his understanding of the challenges that the school faces, both now and in the future. We firmly believe that Tom's clear-headed thinking, managerial expertise, and financial acumen will help the school manage its precious resources and meet those challenges.
While a school is not a corporation, lessons learned from successes and failures in fields outside of education provide valuable insights. It is therefore no surprise that Tom is one of three candidates to be endorsed by the OPRF Faculty Senate.
Please join us in supporting Tom Cofsky for District 200 school board.
