I am writing this letter to endorse Cathy Adduci for River Forest village president. Cathy has been a valued and hard-working village trustee for the past four years and served as village clerk before that.

She has an outstanding professional background, with an MBA in Finance from Loyola University and a distinguished career as a vice president with Unisys Corp. She also has a strong record of board service for a number of non-profit organizations. She has a great work ethic and the time to be involved.

Having served in many capacities in River Forest, including as president of both the District 90 Board of Education and the District 200 OPRF High School board, I recognize in Cathy the qualities for service that I know are the most important. She is a good listener, a person who can lead yet help a board come to resolution on difficult decisions. She believes in collaboration and consensus building. She is committed to including all residents in the governing process, those who have lived here a long time and new families who have recently moved to our community. She has the ability to reach out to various constituencies. She has an open mind and is focused on continuing the progress the current board has made, moving forward on key issues such as economic development, opportunities for intergovernmental cooperation, cost savings and future long-term planning.

Cathy has the leadership skills and the background to be an outstanding village president. Please vote for Cathy Adduci on Tuesday, April 9.
