I am writing to express support for Mila Tellez for Library Board Trustee.

Mila has been a vital member and charter member of many civic and community groups. Among them are: Project Unity, President of the North?#34;Pulaski Chamber of Commerce; Member and Co-Founder of Responsible Economic Development Citizens of Oak Park(REDCOOP); Chairperson Political Expo 2002 Oak Park Trustee election; and Board of Election Judge since 1990.

In her business life, Mila has founded and been Publisher for Extra Bilingual Community Newspapers and President, City Suburban Community Newspapers. Mila is extremely energetic, enthusiastic, dedicated and devoted to making life in the village better and improving its institutions such as the library.

Mila is innovative and astute and has identified challenges facing the board: the renovation of the Maze Branch Library; establishment of ongoing computer classes; enhancement of customer service by including a welcome/information center; a community?#34;based planning system; and she will expand upon our tradition of having an excellent library by creating a strategic plan for the future by working to develop additional revenue sources beyond the current property tax levy.

As a Library Board member, Mila understands that she is the steward of the taxpayers' money and will ensure that money spent will be used efficiently and effectively to make the library an even better learning environment.

I believe Mila will be open to engaging the staff and the community in improving the library system to the benefit of Oak Park.

I ask you to join me in voting for Mila Tellez to the Oak Park Library Board of Trustees. She is an experienced, proven leader who will get the job done.
