We would like to encourage Oak Parkers to vote for Vic Guarino in his bid to become a member of District 97's School Board in the April 5 election. Vic brings a high level of enthusiasm for and commitment to the Oak Park schools.
As an engineer at Argonne National Lab, Vic oversees many projects and is responsible for the budgets of large-scale high energy physics experiments ($2-4 million per year) which gives him the kind of expertise needed to work with the current tight fiscal constraints that are confronting our school district.
While Vic is an excellent team player, he has also shown the willingness to speak out when he disagrees with what is going on, or has a different perspective to offer.
Vic has been active within D97 in several areas. He is currently serving his second term as the Co-Vice President of the Irving PTO, previously served for 2 years on the Irving School Leadership Team, and participant in the PTO sponsored Learning Community Initiative (LCI) at Irving, which is working to reduce the minority achievement gap.
Please consider voting for Vic in the coming election; he will help our schools.
