The Fenwick girls soccer team kicked off the season by sweeping through the Windy City Ram Classic and edging Bolingbrook 1-0 in a shootout for the title on Sunday at Toyota Park.
The Friars racked up four straight wins, including a 7-0 victory over Eisenhower to open the tournament. Lauren Frank, Caroline Murphy, Bridget Hillsman, Cali Pyzdrowski, Jackie Mannion, Colette Jaslowski, and Lizzie Cusick all scored in that win. Jesse Cwik and Caroline Knight combined for the shutout in goal.
Fenwick also blanked Romeoville 7-0 and slipped past Lincoln Way West 1-0. Hillman and Frank each scored two goals apiece in the win over Romeoville, while Frank scored the game winner against Lincoln Way West off a corner kick from Pyzdrowski in the 53rd minute.
Mannion scored the deciding goal in the shootout over Bolingbrook, while Cwik earned the shutout.
The Friars host Mother McAuley in their home opener at the Dominican Priory on March 23 at Noon.
