Election Day on April 5 is still several weeks away, but you can cast your ballot early at Oak Park Village Hall, 123 Madison St. Early voting kicks off Monday, March 14, and will continue through March 31.

Early voting has become a key component of the county clerk's strategy to make it easier for voters to cast their ballots. Since it start in April 2007, the number of people voting early has tripled. In the April 2009 consolidated election, 8 percent of all ballots were cast during the early voting period.

Voters can visit any of the 43 suburban early voting sites between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

State law requires voters to present valid identification (driver's license, state ID card or other government-issued ID with a photo) in order to get an early voting ballot.

A full listing of early voting sites can be found at the Cook County Clerk's website at www.cookcountyclerk.com.

This OP Resident promised my vote to Ray Johnson. I am also considering Adam Salzman but have real concerns about Bob Tucker. Too many questions that he refuses to answer.
