West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park and Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park have named Patrick Maloney, 47, to serve as chief executive officer, according to a news release.

Maloney previously served as CEO of Hernando Health, an investor-owned healthcare system with two hospitals, two ambulatory surgery centers and outpatient facilities, in Hernando County, Fla.

He holds a bachelor's degree from Widener University in Chester, Pa. and a master of business administration from Temple University in Philadelphia.

"Patrick's breadth of experience in healthcare and relentless commitment to high-quality care make him an excellent fit for our organization," Erik Wexler, chief executive officer of Tenet Healthcare's Northeast Region, which includes West Lake and West Suburban, said in the news release.

"We're very happy to welcome Patrick to lead Westlake Hospital and West Suburban Medical Center as they continue to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to their communities."
