Robinson excels at Morton College

OPRF High School graduate Javon Robinson, a sophomore on the men's basketball team at Morton College in Cicero, was named to the all-Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference First Team.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound guard led Morton to its second consecutive undefeated season with a mark of 14-0 in the eight-team Illinois Skyway.

In Skyway play, Robinson led the Panthers in field-goal percentage (.577) and assists with 9.5 per game. He was second on the team with 40 steals and third in scoring at 10.9 points per game.

As of last week, the Panthers were 23-7 and had won a college-record 18 straight games. Morton College is ranked 14th in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II.

I had the pleasure of meeting this young man and watching him play for several years now. He is not only a great athlete, he is very well mannered kid. I would like to give a "job well done" to his Mom.

I had the privilege of attending a couple of the games at Morton and this kid has the drive & determination that it takes to succeed not only on the court but in life. great job Javon.
