Anne L. Updegrove of Oak Park died on Feb. 16, 2011 from a malignant brain tumor. She received her B.A. in psychology from Cornell University in 1979 and her PhD in clinical psychology in 1988 from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Updegrove was the director of clinical training for the Clinical Psychology Internship Program at Illinois Masonic Medical Center from 1991-2001 and chief psychologist from 1996-2001 at the same facility. An adjunct faculty member in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program at Loyola University Chicago from 2002-2010, she also had a private practice as a licensed clinical psychologist from 1989 to 2010.
Anne Updegrove is survived by her husband, Grayson Holmbeck; her children, Kaitlin Rose and Joseph Harvey; her parents, Ruby and Dr. John H. Updegrove; her brothers, Stephen and Andrew Updegrove; her nieces and nephews, Mariel, Derek and Nora Updegrove and Tobias and Emilia Holmbeck.
Memorial services will be held at Fourth Presbyterian Church, 126 E. Chestnut St., Chicago, 312-787-4570, on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10 a.m. with a reception and luncheon to follow.
