Judith Manning, 65, lifelong OPer, Ascension and OPRF grad
Judith N. Manning, 65, a lifelong Oak Park resident, died Feb. 5, 2005 at Rush Oak Park Hospital.

Born at West Suburban Hospital on July 12, 1939, she graduated from Ascension School and Oak Park and River Forest High School. She was a homemaker on South Scoville Avenue.

Judith Manning is survived by her husband, Donald; her daughters, Maureen (Robert) Prisching, Corrine (Philip) Yaccino, and Kathleen (Lance) Bonin; her son, Michael (Patricia) Manning; 10 grandchildren; her sisters, Francine (Leo) Rogus and Mimi Signorella; and her mother-in-law, Jean G. Niklinski.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Church, Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by P.M. Smith & Sons Funeral Home.

Sophia Luther, infant
Sophia Clara Romero Luther, born March 18, 2004, died on Feb. 6, 2005 from injuries sustained at birth. She was baptized Aug. 21, 2004 at St. Anthony Padua in Cicero.

Her short life united family and friends in an outpouring of support, and she received great love. The family said the concern of medical and social agencies was extraordinary.

Sophia Luther is survived by her parents, Elaine Luther and Ralph Romero of Forest Park; her sister, Maria; her grandparents, Marilyn and John McCord, formerly of Oak Park, Robert Luther and Blanca Romero; and her godparents, Martha and Ricardo Orozco. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ralph Romero Sr.

Services were held at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Donations to help pay for medical bills may be made to First National Bank of Forest Park.
