The Oak Park Arms Retirement Community held its 10th Annual Civil Servant Celebration on Friday, Jan. 21 in the Arms' ballroom. Oak Park firefighters, paramedics and police officers were invited to a buffet luncheon where residents honored them in a "Hats Off" tribute with poems and testimonials they wrote for the occasion. Police Commander Anthony Ambrose and Fire Chief William Bell addressed the guests at the luncheon.

Oak Park Arms resident Fred Czerwionka read his original poem, "A Well-Deserved Toast." The civil servants were presented with caps created especially for them, embroidered with their official insignia and the salute, "Hats Off from Oak Park Arms."
