The OPRF girls basketball team lost to York Saturday night 75-67 in what ended up being a free-throw shooting contest. The Huskies (16-12, 8-3) put York at the line 38 times, and the Dukes made 28 of their attempts. OPRF, however, finished 12-of-21 from the charity stripe in the West Suburban (Silver) Conference contest.

The Huskies kept the game close with the help of Stekara Hall, who finished with 30 points, 25 of which came in the second half. OPRF cut the deficit to three in the final two minutes of the game.

Caroline Kelty added 13 points for the Huskies, who, with a 48-42 win over Hinsdale Central the night before, still have a shot of at least a share of the conference title. The team travels to Proviso West on Friday to close out conference play.

 OPRF boys basketball

The OPRF boys basketball team took some frustration out on Ridgewood in nonconference action on Saturday night in Oak Park. A night after falling to West Suburban (Silver) Conference rival Hinsdale Central 61-49, the Huskies turned the tables on Ridgewood and upended the Rebels 66-43 in a makeup game that was postponed due to the recent snow blizzard.

Gabe Levin led the charge with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Lang added 12 points and Steve Ramsey 11.

In the loss to Hinsdale Central, Brian Miller led OPRF (10-7, 5-3) with 11 points, while Ramsey and Lang finished with 10.
