Julia E. Miner of Niles, Mich., formerly of Oak Park, died on Jan. 30 following an extended illness. Born on March 6, 1919, in Chicago, she lived in Riverside until 1932, when her family moved to Niles. She had a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Illinois and was a talented painter.
She and her sister Janet lived in Oak Park from the early 1970s until 2007 when they retired to the family home in Niles.
Julia Miner is survived by two nephews, Richard Miner and Phillip Miner, and a niece, Judy Liebers. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet , and her four brothers, Samuel, Edward, Richard and Robert Miner.
A funeral service was held at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, on Feb. 3, followed by interment at Atlanta Cemetery, Atlanta, Ill.
