That Noon Whistle

We could go on at length about all the upsides of the planned Noon Whistle Brewing Company coming to Oak Park. But for today we'll focus on its location. Chicago and Austin. If there is a spot in Oak Park that needs a positive new business with the potential to be a destination for customers of all sorts, it is that intersection. Surrounded on all sides and on both sides of Austin Boulevard by great neighborhoods, Chicago and Austin is a shopping strip that has been abandoned by Oak Parkers. Noon Whistle could bring them back.

Bravo to Viewpoints for supporting the Noon Whistle Brewing Company. I believe that it will be a boon to our local economy and its presence will add fuel to our "shop local" movement. Why send your beer money to St. Louis when you could send it to Chicago & Austin? Good things are happening around here: the farmers market is vibrant, the Sugar Beet Coop is reportedly moving to Madison St, and now this. Something special is happening in Oak Park, let's not committee this to death--Support it!
