If the right and the rich get their way

Snowflakes are falling, grey are the skies
Watch where you're walking, the Tea Party has eyes
Yes, eyes to be watching to wreck progressive plans
If they have their way, we'll be collecting tin cans
Yes, living, but homeless, adrift in the streets
While Right Wing cronies take their whiskeys neat.

We've likely exhausted the topic, Ray. You see Tea Party members as the real patriots. I hear the gibberish coming out the mouths of extremists like Sharon Engle, Louie Gohmert, Michele Bachmann, Joe Walsh, Sarah Palin, etc.,. What started out as a citizens' campaign to force Washington politicians to address issues like deficit reduction, government spending and a fairer tax code was hijacked.. I recall that in the early days, Tea Party leaders did not wish to be identified or linked to either of the major political parties. The plan was to promote their own candidates for elective office at the local, state and national level. Results have been mixed and surveys show that overall support is declining. There is no credible evidence to support your bogus claim about voter fraud. The notion that tea party rallies are :cleaner" is laughable and ignores the fact that extremists within the party have engaged in violence and targeted elected officials with threats.. Nowadays the movement seems more focused on protecting the special interests of the billionaires who provide the majority of funding.

@ Jim - "Tea Party Extremists" - please explain! They seem to rally and leave the venue cleaner than when they arrived. They insist that if you take an oath to honor and defend the Constitution you do just that! They would like to see tax dollars used wisely and no waste or fraud. They would like to see voter fraud eliminated. That sure doesn't seem too extreme to me. Perhaps the "dog" is too wise to play three card monte with you.

Right back at you, Ray! Trying to engage in a civilized debate with a Tea Party extremist is as futile as teaching card tricks to a dog. They are incapable of getting it and never will.

Hearing Oak Parkers criticize the rich almost made me laugh out loud. Where I came from, people who can afford to live in Oak Park ARE the rich!

Mary, congrats on winning the 2014 "Most Childish Letter of the Year" so far. You are probably trying to be cute, but honestly, you don't really believe that "progressives"" in the political class care one whit about the poor or anyone else in this country but themselves, do you? The real "progressive" (& really, stop using that word to describe a 100 yr old ideology!) agenda is to create more takers than producers in America, solidifying their majority for selfish purposes only. Grow up.

Mary, you might want to get a copy of Arthur Brooks book " Who Really Cares" Progressive, big government advocates come off as the least charitable group, preferring to let government handle the needy. The Tea Party proves to be the statistical winner by notable percentages. We are into the 5th year of progressive governance and I don't see a single success story they can tell without bending the facts and the truth. Progressive theories have failed everywhere they have been tried and driving our heads into that same brick wall isn't going to produce any better outcome

The Left is here, on taking your money they're hellbent. They want more even after raising our IL taxes 67%. With unions by their side, they continue their bloat. With union dues buying each and every vote. But don't worry, Mary, you'll still get your pill. As the taxpayers continue to foot the bill.
