The Fenwick swim team finished second at the Metro Catholic Aquatic Conference on Saturday.
Max Showalter set a new meet record by procuring a 481.85 score to win the diving event. Showalter has an opportunity to secure the pool record at sectionals on Feb. 16 to be held at Fenwick. The record score of 495.60 was set by Ben Lewis last year. David Dukin finished fourth in diving, also making him a contender for state.
Zach Tieke won the 100 freestyle in 48.70 seconds and helped the 200 medley relay team to first in 1:40.03. Matt Farmer, Tommy McGuire and Cavan Smith also swam in that race.
McGuire also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.74. Justin White took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:47.36.
The sectional begins Feb. 16 with diving at 9 a.m., followed by swimming at 1 p.m.
