The Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation met on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest for its annual meeting. Typically held in various locations around Oak Park, this was the first time the Foundation’s annual meeting was held in River Forest. Despite the fierce snowstorm, more than 40 people participated in the event.
At the meeting, outgoing board members Werner Huget, Lou Marchi, and Robert Sassetti were honored. Former board members Deb Abrahamson, Naomi Law and Andy Hibel also served in 2006. Board members agreeing to serve an additional term are Mimi Burkland, Al George and Shirley Kelm. The Annual Meeting is also when new board members are voted in. Joining the Community Foundation’s board this year are: Shelby Boblick, Jim Field, Shirley Morgenthaler, Lynne Palmore, and Nancy Waichler.
