Concordia University in River Forest has dismissed Director of Public Safety Timothy H. Margis, 38, after police charged him with committing a "lewd act" involving the shoe of a female employee.

A police report stated the employee observed Margis exiting her office while buttoning his pants and fastening his belt around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 10. When the employee confronted Margis and asked what he was doing in her office, he reportedly told her he was checking the office because the door was open. After Margis left, the victim observed a clear liquid inside one of her shoes inside the office and contacted police.

Police arrested Margis at his home in Homer Glen on Feb. 12. Margis voluntarily turned himself in to police.

According to police, Margis gave a voluntary statement saying he had committed a lewd act in the office. He was charged with two misdemeanor charges. The university terminated Margis on Feb. 13.
